About the Society

The Society was founded in 1966 as the Strathearn Arts Guild, so 2017-2018 is our fifty second season. We have around 80 members from Crieff, Comrie, Auchterarder, Muthill and other parts of Perthshire.  We welcome new members, so if you would like to join us please contact us.

Over the years many famous performers have visited the Society, including Sir Peter Pears, Ossian Ellis and  Peter Katin.

In 1987, our 21st season, anniversary celebrations included  a concert by local schools, with a horn solo by  Ewan McGregor!

As well as the programme of evening concerts, the Society has introduced very successful afternoon Schools workshops for local young people, to encourage and promote an appreciation of classical music amongst instrumental players and concert-goers of the future.

The Society is a registered Scottish Charity  - SC006801
